In each bedroom, and office – there is a biometric safe. In the bedrooms, this will be in the closet. In the office, it will be recessed into a wall. Since the safe is biometric, it is intended for only the approved fingerprints. There is also a key that will open the safe, but the tenant will not have that key. The tenant can use the safe as they see fit, but if they should move out with items still in the safe, all documents will be shredded and recycled. This shredding is to protect your privacy. Be sure to remove the items from the safe before departing.
The safe will require batteries to operate. If you allow the batteries to drain completely, and you can’t access the safe, you would have to request a house call. The realty representative will come and you must be with them when they open the safe. You are required to have the appropriate sized batteries to load the safe. The best practice of replacing the batteries. will be to replace one battery at a time. This will assure that the safe will not lose power while replacing the batteries.
