If you are living in an SRO, you have just the one room with a ¾ bathroom. There is nothing more to say about that. If you are in an efficiency, you would have a ¾ bathroom, and kitchenette. If you are in a studio, you would have a ¾ bathroom and a kitchen. For these rentals, there are no other rooms. The rooms noted here are intended for 1B apartments or larger. All of the rooms are designed to make the most of the space available. Some units are long and narrow considering the city’s thin building lots. It will be relatively common for a 25′ – 30′ width for the lot, and a 100′ long lot making the space more narrow. This has to be adjusted for such issues. Therefore, there will be some rooms with no windows, which will then require the use of lights on a regular basis. Bedrooms must have 2 means of egress. This will be the door, and window – therefore all bedrooms will have a window.
