Every unit will have its own control panel. The panel will be able to read RFID cards/keys/tags, and allow for integration with new accounts. There will be three levels for management of the key card system. There is the owner (which is me). The owner can revoke privileges from any other level group. I as the owner can also add RFID tags without having to go to the property. However, the administrator will likely be the head of the household. You will add new RFID tags if you should need to. You will also be able to set time restrictions. These people will be given the level of user.
Owner is just that – the owner of the unit. This will of course be me. I could add new RFID tags at the control panel, but it would make more sense to do that through the lock management system that would be at the office. As the owner, I can also revoke administrators, or users from the system. I can also grant more privileges. For example, if one of my tenants was to work as a cashier in my convenience store, they will use the same card as for their unit to also enter the convenience store before it opens. Again, this can be done through the lock management system.
The administrator will not have access to the lock management system. Instead, you will be allowed to add new keys and set restrictions. You will be able to buy RFID tags online for a reasonable price, or you can pay for a key card for $25 at the realty company. Since the name is imprinted on the key card, there will be no refund if returned. However, if you leave your residence, the key card might not be of benefit to you. In which case, the environmentally ethical thing to do will be recycle the card. The user group will be authenticated to enter the unit through the key card either with no restrictions. This will all be done through the control panel. As noted, some key cards can have restrictions on the time.
In order to use the control panel to add users, the administrator will go to the panel, select Locks, and select Add User. They will be prompted to tag the RFID tag to the reader, and name the tag. Usually, the name will likely be the name the card is for. The administrator can receive key cards from the realty office, and set up credentials for the individual people they wish to add. RFID cards will have to be picked up at the realty office.
