In the city of Pittsburgh, trash collection is included, and paid through the city’s taxes. You would just have to take out the trash 12 hours before pickup on the day assigned to your neighborhood. You would receive a residence manual when you move into the apartment. This will tell you the day that your trash pickup is scheduled for. If there is a holiday on the day before your assigned pickup day, then you would be moved up one day (normally Friday will move to Saturday). You are responsible for taking out the trash in time.
